I’ve thought about how to better draw the road geometry for this intersection so navigation and routing doesn’t get so wonky. You can see (if the auto-generated report is still there) how the actual routes traveled and the geometry don’t match up.
Any thoughts on the best way to tackle this? Navigation works, but being the OCD perfectionist I am, I want to make the geometry better match actual routes…without it looking like a rat’s nest.
[edit] fixed permalink
The permalink is to Churchmans Rd near the Chistiana Mall, rather than Bear.
As far as the intersection of E Main and Rt 40, as navigation works, I don’t see a problem.
Whoops, copy paste fail. Sorry about that.
I suppose since navigation works, should we just ignore the auto-generated error here and mark it as “not identified” each time it shows up?
Yeah, I’m not too concerned about the geometry. However, now that I’m looking at the permalink, I have a different issue. How is that intersection signed? If you are routed southbound on Rt 40 and then left at that intersection, you will get a “turn left at E Main St” instruction. Is that appropriate? If it should be a “turn left at Bear Corbitt Rd” instruction, then the cross segment should have the none checkbox ticked for the streetname.
Good catch, I thought I had fixed that awhile back but clearly didn’t save :X
I marked the segment accordingly and set the problem report to “not identified”. Thanks!
