I live in Winthrop and we have had a lot of vehicles including semis coming down streets that are not rated for the weight. When I tried routing on Waze it didn’t show any detour.
The closure was already entered at the point of hard closure. Waze does not follow official detours, and will route you down soft-closed roads. If we were to close the whole road, then there would be incorrect routing for people trying to get to places on that road.
As always, the user is the driver and should follow posted signs. There is nothing we can do about the semis - that is up to the police and MnDOT to handle.
