Good news,
Just found through trying, that WME now accepts dashes and letters in the House Number box. Hopefully this feature is available to all editor ranks (and not just L4 and above).

I think other characters are now allowed but it must still start with a number so fine for “221b Baker Street” but it still can’t cope with house names.
