I have been working on resolving this UR, where the reporter was not getting the driving instructions they were expecting. Main issue here is the location marker for the postcode of the address they are trying to navigate to (KY12 8AU) is closer to the main road (A907 - Pittencrieff St) than the actual road they are trying to navigate to (Canon Lynch Ct). As such, when the postcode is involved in the lookup, the driving directions finish prematurely. However if you just search for the street name, Waze will direct you correctly into the street itself.
I have explained this to the reporter (see details on the UR), but they have asked if adding House Numbers to the street would help it navigate to the correct location. I have looked on the Wiki and the forums, but I cannot find a clear answer as to whether it would or not.

So my question is - does Waze use the House Numbers feature within the app here in the UK, and would adding House Numbers to the street above help get the reporter better navigation instructions to a particular address in Canon Lynch Ct?
Just checked and a house number/address search gets the same result in Waze as it does in google.
So waze street numbers will have little bearing/effect on a search as the results are all googles…
Ok, so are we saying the UK (like the USA) relies on Google when searching for addresses, so adding house numbers here would have no impact in trying to improve the routing to this location? If so, perhaps this could be stickied or added to the UK wiki somewhere?
Not really. My experience told me that adding house numbers improves the routing. Most of the cases I encountered can be solved but few of them I couldn’t figure out. Some cases that it took few weeks to see the effect. I may ask Waze support to clarify.
In the past, I received few URs reported wrong address. Most of the cases waze pointed to next street or nearby. I tried to add the house number in correct place and it worked once the tile was updated. As I mentioned before, with some unknown reason, I need to wait for few weeks to see the effect.
Search for ‘66 North Lane, Haxby’ - if the address came from Waze, the pin should appear on the corner of the landmark. Yet, it does not. Ergo, address lookup came from Google, which returns the identical result.
I recently discovered an example of house numbering that DOES work.
A local UR complained that waze took them to the correct street (87 Simmance Way, Amesbury), but the wrong part of it. The reporter asked if it was an error.
As we know, location data comes via google, and waze dropped it’s pin exactly where google did (i.e. in the wrong place). The road was 200-300 meters in length and street numbers seemed to be divided into two clusters (i.e. searching by number gave one of two possible locations).
I added the single street number (87) at the correct location and I’ve just checked - waze now locates correctly for numbers 87 and 85, but remains incorrect for 86 and all others. Interestingly, google now gets it right for those two numbers too…
I encountered similar thing. Anyway, Noam replied that adding house number does help navigating to correct place in some countries but not yet in the UK. I’m on holiday now. I’ll ask him to clarify why it works sometimes when I’m back. Or Noam directly responses here?
