Become a Booster
Boosters are editors from one country who offer guidance and mentoring to communities in another country. Their involvement aims to foster the development of a thriving and self-reliant community.
If you’re excited about helping a community grow and you have a connection to the country you’d like to help, becoming a Booster could be a very rewarding opportunity.
To become a booster, you need to be a Level 4 map editor or higher and possess the following skills for success:
- In-depth knowledge of the WME and map editing practices
- A broad understanding of other Waze products, what projects are currently happening, and who’s working on them
- Strong leadership skills to guide and support the community
- Excellent communication and the ability to connect with people from different cultures
- Basic social media skills to help you introduce Waze to the new local community
- Fluent English as it is essential for communicating with:
- Local Waze communities
- Waze’s global community
- Waze staff
Note: Bonus points if you speak the local language of the country you’re helping out

Waze staff approves nominations based on an evaluation of past contributions and application responses.
