How to be A Community Booster

Become a Booster

Boosters are editors from one country who offer guidance and mentoring to communities in another country. Their involvement aims to foster the development of a thriving and self-reliant community.

If you’re excited about helping a community grow and you have a connection to the country you’d like to help, becoming a Booster could be a very rewarding opportunity.

To become a booster, you need to be a Level 4 map editor or higher and possess the following skills for success:

  • In-depth knowledge of the WME and map editing practices
  • A broad understanding of other Waze products, what projects are currently happening, and who’s working on them
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and support the community
  • Excellent communication and the ability to connect with people from different cultures
  • Basic social media skills to help you introduce Waze to the new local community
  • Fluent English as it is essential for communicating with:
    • Local Waze communities
    • Waze’s global community
    • Waze staff

Note: Bonus points if you speak the local language of the country you’re helping out
