I-15 Express Lanes, San Diego, CA

Love the new feature in Waze that lets you pick the kind of passes and stickers you have. Unfortunately, the I-15 Express lanes are not properly marked with CAV pass and I do not have permissions to change this. If someone else would do that – or give me permissions. Either way, it would be awesome.

Thanks. I’m going to get a senior editor to take a look. I think some temporary configurations are getting in the way.

BTW…CAV should be properly marked. It would be under the “Toll Free” restriction.

When driving south, everything appears to work properly. It even has a nice diamond logo at the top and says “continue on expressway”. When heading north, it keeps telling me to take a uturn as I approach the onramp and when I start driving on the expressway, it switched between “calculating” and “proceed to route” and then finally gives up and assumes I’m driving in the freeway next to the expressway.

Can you describe where it’s doing that? Which entrance to HOV/HOT lanes?

Specifically, I am attempting to enter from the George Cooke Express Drive and go north. Since it eventually thinks I’m on the freeway, it tells me to take the Via Rancho Parkway exit. I actually take the Beethoven exit right off the expressway. I never enter the freeway proper. My destination is beyond the wild animal park.

When Waze was properly using the expressway as a toll road, it would route me on it if it was faster. My destination is Ramona and I use Waze on my daily commute to pick the best route. Traffic varies, so I like to know which way is better at the time I’m traveling. I know the way – Waze hells me find the one that is the fastest.

Have you chosen a route that shows the HOV? Has this been any better for you? I think Waze is still working out some of the bugs with HOV routing.

I’ve been on vacation, so no commuting for me until next week. I’ll give it a look then.

How did it do this week?
