Idea: Best time to go

Many people (like me) don’t have fixed working hours but can choose when to come to work, as long as some core hours are within one’s working time.

It would be great if waze could calculate routes based on time-based speeds data and tell which time is the best to go, i.e. when will I lose least time driving to work. And back! Ideally, it would offer a timeframe for one direction and optionally also take into acount the way back x hours later.

Example: I want to go from A to B between 6 and 9 AM and go back 9 hours after arriving at B. When should I start in the morning? It should not only spit out the best option but all times in 15 minute intervals* for comparison. (“I know 6 AM is probably very fast, but I won’t get up that early unless I really gain A LOT of time.”)

  • I know waze currently uses 30 minutes intervals for speed averages, but I hope this will be more fine-grained in the future, so I just outline my vision as an ideal.

If I remember correctly from previous discussions, this is being worked on 8-).

Really? Hah, great.

+1 great idea!
