Hey all,
I am considering changing out my car stereo to put in a gps/bluetooth stereo, however, now since discovering and using Waze 
, I am wondering if something exists where I could have waze broadcast to an in dash device. I know there are certain double din units that play pandora or might work with other apps, but I wonder specifically about waze. I have an iPhone 4. I am loving the functionality of waze that I am really thinking twice about regressing to a garmin based system or the like. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Robin, could you please elaborate on that and how it works with Waze?

iPhone should work as well, with the only limitation that the input on the radio is broken, you’ll need to use your iPhone as an input device.
The radio runs on Android.
The way they have Waze working as of now and the latest beta is Waze uses the bluetooth audio channel when your phone is paired with your head unit. What this means is you have to have your radio set to bluetooth audio and play your music with your phone. The big drawback is no radio if you listen to the radio and the sound quality though the bluetooth audio profile is poor at best. Bass is not well pronounced, and I have to knock down the treble a lot. Once Waze can figure out which profile to use and how to use it so it works like other GPS software where it broadcasts through the phone audio channel so it will interrupt the music when it is time to give a new instruction, but not when you are on a call, then it would be perfect. Right now their fix is the route sound through speaker option, however I can never hear the instructions over my music.

keep the suggestions coming. I’m really hoping some iPhone users (who have this maps/music thing figured out) will chime in here. I really love listening to my tunes in the car and would hate to have to choose between them and Waze (cause I love Waze too)!

guys, did you notice the new iOS update on waze is now compatible with the appradio ? today I hooked it up and it works ! Even after asking waze on twitter if it was, and them saying that not yet but soon.

I was able to listen to music and use waze at the same time today. Problem I had was that the phone overheated and shut itself down… guess that living in a tropical country, using the phone as gps, bluetooth connected and reading music off of it was too much for the iphone 4
