Thanks for your message, I’m one of the Waze volunteer map editors. Staff don’t monitor these forums. I’m sorry to hear you’re unsatisfied with the route you’re getting with Waze.
We checked the route you mentioned and we couldn’t* find any errors on the map that would cause a bad route. That’s the extent of what volunteer map editors can do sorry.
The route Waze provides is determined by the Waze routing server. It attempts to give you the “best” route - it generally keeps you to higher grade roads in the middle of your journey, considers time vs tolls, and uses real time conditions using data collected from other drivers on the road. That’s simply how Waze works and we don’t have any control over that. If you’re interested in reading more about how the routing server works, there’s a wiki page on it here.
If you’re unsatisfied with the route Waze is providing, you might consider not setting a destination, and instead free-driving. I’m sure you know the way to work, but you can still enjoy hazard reporting/alerts, as so many Wazers do this way. Ultimately though, if that still isn’t meeting your needs, I sincerely hope you’re able to find another app that meets your needs. Google Maps is popular, but that’s the only other app I have experience with.
