There’s apparently some user in my area (Montgomery County) that keeps tagging the regular speed cameras as Mobile Police Cameras, so every time you approach one, you get two alerts, a regular Speed Camera alert and a Mobile Police Camera alert. How can this user be reported or something done to stop it? It’s so annoying.
All of Montgomery County’s speed cameras are now mobile cameras, and all of them get moved around fairly regularly. The people who are tagging them as mobile police cameras are correct to do so, and the fixed cameras are the ones that are wrong.
Respectfully, I disagree that fixed speed cameras should not be mapped in Montgomery County. As a MD state manager and resident of MoCo, I can confirm first-hand that there are some fixed speed cameras in Montgomery that are permanent. For example, on MD-117 Clopper Rd westbound, just west of Firstfield Rd, that speed camera has never moved or had the camera top removed. However, there is another camera location across the street, for Clopper eastbound, that comes and goes. I live here, so I rotate the cameras. Similar situation on Quince Orchard Rd around the corner, two of the cameras are permanent and one additional camera comes and goes.
There is no way to suppress the mobile police camera reports for locations that already have a fixed speed enforcement camera mapped as a permanent hazard.
You can go into your Waze settings menu, and down to Alerts and reports, and in the Reports section you can disable the alerts for either the Speed camera feature or the alerts for the Police feature, which includes mobile cameras.
