Next April (Saturday 29.4.2023) a in-person self-organized Scandinavian Regional Meetup will be held in Helsinki, Finland. Online attendees are also welcome via Google Meet.
All map editors from the Nordic countries and Estonia are invited, regardless of editor rank. However, the registration form must be filled no later than Thursday 2.2.2023. At least 17 in-person participants are needed in Helsinki for the meetup to take place, the maximum is 30. The number of online attendees is not limited. Waze will notify separately those who have been approved.
We hope to have someone from the headquarters attending in Helsinki, this will be confirmed later. Community Manager Dana Alfassi is our contact at the moment and I presume we will see/hear presentations from others as well. The meetup program happens between 09:00-16:00 Eastern European Summer Time (UTC +3 hours) including coffee breaks and lunch. In Denmark, Norway and Sweden that would be 08:00-15:00 Central European Summer Time (UTC +2 hours).
After you have filled the registration form please take a minute or two to fill the Q&A form, this way you can influence in the content of the presentations and get answers.
I hope that everyone could come to Helsinki, it would be so nice to meet fellow editors face-to-face!
Waze organizes flights as well as accommodation and meals for those coming to Helsinki. Transport from/to the airport remains to be taken care of yourself and also at your own expense. Please don’t book the flight tickets and accommodation yourself, a travel agency takes care of them.
Those coming by land/sea transport also get accommodation and meals. Travel tickets must be first organized and purchased yourself and after the meetup you will be reimbursed for them (save the receipts for this). For those coming by car the fuel/electricity and hotel parking fees in Helsinki will be reimbursed. More information available in the registration form.
So Waze organizes the flights, accommodation, meetup venue and the program. Our responsibility is to gather the best possible group!
