Ireland: Safety Cameras / Speed Cameras

Hi all

I was just wondering had anyone set about putting in speed or safety camera locations on the map yet?
I was recently in London, and the Waze app had pretty impressive locations and warnings for speed camera locations.
I see cameras added to the map from time to time, but i think they are often reported when drivers spot a Garda or Garda car.
What do people think about putting in safety camera van locations, even though there is no camera permanently in place? I was looking at the Garda map ( http://www.garda.ie/Controller.aspx?Page=6497 ) of the safety camera locations: they show parts of roads up to a few miles long where vans are patrolling, but of the ones I’ve seen, they only ever seem to park at one specific spot on those roads. Should a camera symbol be placed at the locations of the speed camera signs on those roads, or at the location where the van usually parks?

They also have a pdf of the locations of the roads on the Garda website:

http://www.garda.ie/Documents/User/Speed%20Collision%20Zones%20as%20of%2013.11.2010%20(by%20county).pdf

The longest stretch in Cork, for example is 7.9km, which would be hard to map unless one put camera symbols all along the length of it.
There’s an 8.5 in donegal, (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=N+54.985061+W+08.319415&hl=en&ll=54.985002,-8.319397&spn=0.052401,0.149174&sll=51.912494,-8.431096&sspn=0.007042,0.018647&vpsrc=6&t=m&z=13), an 8.4 in limerick and an 8.1 in waterford

It would be good to get some consensus on how to do it across the country. The speed camera threads on other forums don’t seem to have much in the way of direction on the topic

put a camera at each end and a landmark along the length of the road saying that it is a Garda area of interest?

Either end is probably the most realistic thing to do alright, Llayden
Not quite in a position in Cork to start doing it, (as we aren’t quite as far along as Dublin!) but we are nearly there and have a smaller job to do, but I would intend to proceed in that manner in the near future.

Would be grateful for other opinions but either end at the warning signs is logical and practical
