Is a 6A car charger enough?

I think this little guy should keep everyone happily charged up.

That may be a little exaggerated.

So with 3 USB ports, the most that can be drawn is 4.5A at approximately 5V. Whilst the charger probably isn’t USB certified, anything you connect to it probably is, so shouldn’t draw more than the maximum current. :ugeek:

I’d be willing to bet that because this isn’t really considered USB in terms of specifications, only the connector, they can push whatever they want. IPads for sure pulls 2A when connected to a wall charger but can’t pull that when connected to a computer USB port. It’s more about what the device wants to pull and whether the supply can provide that much current.

6.6A should be more than enough. I have a 5A Tom-Tom superfast in-car charger and it keeps waze running while recharging the phone’s battery to 100%. The normal 2.5A in-car chargers can’t meet the demands that are generated by the GPS running and trying to recharge the battery on the move.

Ian.

But is it 2.2A per USB?

Yes. Should be able to charge 3 tablet size devices at full speed simultaneously.
