Issue with "Find more mentees" list: Missing username

I recently received an email requesting me to mentor an editor with the username tieenstrung93. I replied to the email with the word “Accept” to accept the request, and the Community Hub correctly shows that I am their mentor.

However, when I checked the mentor list (by going to my account at waze.com/user/editor/tinhte and clicking the “Find more mentees” button) to officially accept him, his name did not appear at all (as shown in the attached screenshots).

I reached out to him directly and found out that he has changed his username to Trungdt-CLQ.
That being said, I am wondering why his name - neither the old one nor the new one - shows up in my “Find more mentees” list.

Regarding this, I have two specific questions:

  1. Is there any alternative way to add an editor to my mentee list other than going to my profile page and using the “Find more mentees” button? Since I cannot find his name in this list, is there another method to manually add an editor?
  2. Does this specific list fully cover all new editors in my region/country? As a community leader, I use this list to track and gather statistics on new editors to see how our community is growing. However, it seems incomplete, as I regularly notice active new editors in my country who are completely missing from it.

There’s no connection between the mentoring program on the hub and the one on the profile page. Please review this quick deck that explains the difference between the two programs.

To answer your questions:

Unfortunately not. We have very little control over the list and require the backend team’s assistance with changes.

That’s a great question, I love it :slight_smile:
I believe it doesn’t cover all new editors in your area since it has some constraints, but the logic there is outdated and hard to maintain.
I know other leaders use additional resources to complete the picture, like the HVA.
