I would’ve the maps editors to add a right turn ban to the junction opposite Kilburn Station, London (NW6).
As you can see (below) when driving south from Cricklewood the right turn onto Christchurch Avenue is not permitted (straight arrow only painted on the tarmac). Ask Camden council (they manage this junction) they will confirm. You can see that the left turn into Maygrove is painted correctly (and allowed).
The other way round, the right turn into Maygrove rd is correctly encoded on the map as not permitted.
If you try to follow Waze and turn right you will hold up traffic as the traffic light hasn’t been set up to allow that right turn. You can cross only when the oncoming traffic is stopped by the red light which coincides but the green light from Christchurch / Maygrove or the green light of the pedestrian crossing. It’s quite DANGEROUS!
Despite the road markings not including a right turn arrow, there is no signage disallowing a right turn here and I cannot find a TRO disallowing it either.
The road markings seem to have been repainted somewhere between 2021 and 2022 and I’m thinking this may have been a mistake as prior to that there was a right turn arrow.
Although not mentioned in that proposal, it may be the case a right turn prohibition comes along with any TROs if/when it is implemented.
In terms of getting to the bottom of it, we will generally only map what is made available to us via road signage, TROs, or in special circumstances clarification from local authorities. With that said, if there is no signage explicitly prohibiting the right turn and we disable it in Waze anyway, drivers who rely on routes making that right turn will likely report it as a mistake and we’re back where we started.
If you are inclined to get to the bottom of it yourself, this road seems to be on the Camden side of the local authority border so I would assume it sits with them. They should be able to advise on whether there is a restriction here.
