Kuala Kencana, Mimika, Papua Area Manager?

I have been living in Kuala Kencana the last 5 years and am in the process of updating the Live Map in the Kuala Kencana area and want to introduce myself to the Area Manager. With only 559 points I’m only a Level 1. Just trying to help out in this area as I live here as and EXPAT contractor.

Hi Tom,

We welcome you as an editor in Indonesia. And we do need people who are knowledgeable about Timika and its surrounding area, because maps’ information is pretty barren over there.

That being said, unfortunately, an Area Manager for Indonesia is not self-appointed and/or self-proclaimed position. Indonesia has its own rules and qualifications about the AM position, and with your current number of edits, you’re not qualified yet.

We’ll be happy to walk you through Indonesia’s rules and communities, and that includes street naming, which is incorrect in your edits. You can search for edit rules in Indonesia via the Wazeopedia (see the link in my signature). Note that since it’s geared towards Indonesian audience, the wiki will be Indonesian-only in terms of language.

Please feel free to contact the Island Managers in charge of Papua as well if you need to do so. Thanks for your understanding.

Thank you for you reply. I will read the link in your signature and I will correct the street name edits. I input exactly what I saw on the street signs here in Kuala Kencana. Sorry about only speaking english but my Bahasa Indonesian is not very good.

Please understand I don’t want to be a Manager I’m only a visitor in your country but I am very familiar with this area and just want to be a good Waze community member help update the local info for future Waze users in this area.

Yes sir. We appreciate your spirit in helping us in updating the data over at Kuala Kencana and Timika.

I think I misread your original post (I read it around 11 PM), so I do apologize if I misunderstand your intention. :frowning:
