L2+ Request: I-26 Charleston service ramps

A couple of cloverleafs/ramps in the North Charleston area have undergone a lot of construction in the past couple years and now alongside a few of those exits (Remount, Aviation, Ashely-Phosphate) There are a number of ramps/service roads that run alongside the interstate, to the ramps to lead immediately onto the interstates.

In this example segment 44130871 ramps directly from Aviation onto I26 West, at a junction with ramp element 72512439 and I26. (72512439 btw, doesnt list the driving direction as permitted, this is wrong). Both of those segments should in fact not connect to I26 at/under the overpass. They should both actually only meet I26 where ramp 65618482 does. Similarly the ramps on the Eastbound side dont show this side-system at all. Observe from google maps:

If you street-view you’ll notice the 4ft high barrier seperating the Interstate from the slip road. This features on the Remount (next exit south), Aviation, and Phosphate (next exit north) exchanges. Phosphate is set up correctly. Remount is only partially correct, and 61776657 from Remount to I26 W doesn’t meet the interstate until after the underpass. Aviation and Remount share the same Westbound and Eastbound service ramps

There are some staff-level locks I’ve asked to be removed. We need that done before any adjustments can be made.

FYI, that one disallowed straight “turn” is appropriate to prevent people from using the side ramps/sliproad as a bypass of the mainline Interstate.

In general you will get a quicker response by posting update requests in the update request forum under the United States. The state level forums are best for questions and discussions specific to a region.

Staff locks were removed and I was able to update the Aviation/Remount area. Please check everything closely. The map was a mix of pre- and post- construction and some street view images are mid-construction so I hope I got all the ramp names correct.

FYI, there are parallel sections of road on the collector/distributors to prevent Waze from using it as a bypass of the mainline interstate.

Once this is nailed down, we can shift north or south as needed.
