[L4] A52 Nottinghamshire

Hi, concerning this segment:
https://www.waze.com/editor?env=row&lon=-1.05631&lat=52.94093&s=1195376639&zoom=6&segments=122678810
Its now possible to perform a U-turn at this junction from eastbound to westbound following the junction upgrade. You can see this on the latest streetview.
Request Level 4+ to allow the turn.

(PS: No idea why they went to the effort to include a dedicated lane and light sequence solely to allow a u-turn, its completely unnecessary…must have been spare cash to burn)

Could be a safety measure. There are a few businesses and a ‘caravan’ park on the A52(E). Drivers wanting to travel west from these places would have to first travel east and may be tempted to turn by using Nottingham Rd and then a right-turn out of Lee Barnes Rd onto A52(W), which is 60mph. Lee Barnes Rd also has a weight restriction. I can’t see any other reason for it.

Anyway, I’d like to know if the routing server would decide that this turn is too tight and dismiss it (as mentioned in the Junction Style Guide)?

Cheers
Andrew

May be better to move the carriageway merge point past Nottingham road, close to the actual merge point. This would maybe make things easier. If a higher level editor agrees, the relevant segments can be unlocked to Level 2 and I can make the changes.

Gentle bump…

I have lowered the 4 sections of road to L2. I agree that moving the merge to remake the junction as a dual carriageway would probably work best.
When you do this use sections of the existing road to keep the data, rather than add new sections.
Enjoy and let me know when you are done.

Done, can be re-locked now.
Looks good to me, but let me know if anythings dodgy…

Looks fine and Re-locked.
