A UR has been dropped on this segment as Waze directed a dis-allowed U-turn (right then right again at the junction.) I can see the problem but I’m not sure how best this would be fixed. Could any L4+ with time take a look?
Thinking about this overnight I’ve worked out the fix I’d implement… Each of these segments would have their right turns disabled and new, dedicated, right-turns introduced connecting this pair and this pair.
If someone is comfortable downlocking these roads to L2 for a few hours I’m happy to try implementing the fix.
Thanks for the reply. I did consider the bow-tie but was concerned about disrupting the built up road data and the other drawbacks noted on the junction wiki page.
My plan was to mirror this junction. Although setting up to avoid the issue flagged in a UR on that junction.
Having looked in more detail I don’t now believe the U-turn from the A41, North needs restricting. The southbound carriageway has a no U-turn sign, but there is no similar signage Northbound.
Bump to bring back to first page as still outstanding.
I believe the following changes are the best way to fix the error flagged by the nearby UR:
On the existing roads disallow the right turn from the A41 (S) on to Woodmere Avenue… The two segments here
Branch the A41 (S) where the right turn lane begins, ideally generating a keep right instruction from Waze and connect this branch to point B here only permitting the turn on to Woodmere Avenue, ideally generating a turn right instruction at the junction.
I’m fine to give this a go if people are comfortable downlocking these roads to L2 for a short time.
This can be reproduced in Live Map at the moment. First example is an Illegal “U” Turn Live Map Link and the second is an allowed turn Live Map Link, notice all I have done is change the destination slightly. Note it’s left turn only out of the side road where route started.
