Initially I thought the reporter had their app setting on taxi, and this was why they were being directed down the busway. But looking at the latest image on streetview here:

it looks like only buses are allowed on this, segment (at least westbound…you can clearly see a taxi coming the other direction). Eastbound at this junction, the signage clearly says that taxis are allowed.
Opinions welcome, but I guess the westbound direction restrictions at this junction should be updated to buses only…
I’ve updated the restrictions, please check I’ve got it the correct way around, as the signs do appear to be explicit.
I’m hunting for a traffic order or similar to confirm.
Looks good to me. The Streetview imagery at this junction and at the station junction at the other end is from March 2019, and the signs are clear as you say.
Just for my own peace of mind, Busway TRO 2018. Also highlights a couple of turns on Guilford St that needed fixing and the removal of the left turn on Mill St.
