Hi there, I have added parking roads to a large ‘new-ish’ main car park for business visitors and guests at the University of Reading, but need to request the help of a Level 4 editor to connect the entrance and exit roads to the main road (Queen’s Drive).

Please let me know if I haven’t followed the correct procedure for this situation, or in making this request, I have only edited roads in less busy areas until today.
If you need any more information or if I’ve missed anything please let me know, I’m working on a few different things right now so I might have easily overlooked something.
(Also, if you have time I’d also appreciate feedback if the level of detail for the parking roads is appropriate too, I do cartography as part of my work so it’s tempting to draw everything sometimes, but I only included the main loop around the outside to avoid making the map look busy. As this is the main carpark that visitors (without a permit) can use and is larger than the others, I wasn’t sure if the other parking roads would be necessary or not.)

That’s looks fine and I’ve connected the roads up now.
You’re right in that it is quite large. I generally add every 3rd row (ish) to a car park to give a skeleton view of the layout without putting to much clutter on the map. As you know, roads are rendered much wider than they truly are in the app to make it clear so it can get a bit ‘busy’. Note that you don’t need to follow the real rows exactly when doing this as it’s just a representation for the map.
You’ll probably need to add a car park place to map and give it a name so that people can search for it; ‘University of Reading Visitor Car Park’ or something like that although it’s a bit of a mouthful.

I’m guessing this will be a ‘Restricted’ car park as only for UoR visitors etc, not general use.
Car parks and campuses are both tricky things so you’ve definitely picked a good one to start with here. I’d suggest you take a look at any other nearby place names that relate to the University as there may be a naming standard in place.

I was thinking I should add it as a parking area given that it’s the one visitors should use so I will get to this later and thanks for the guidance. It’s reassuring to know I had the right idea.
