L6-L5 Downlock Speed Camera (A14 Cambridge)

Please downlock these two cameras to L5 as the speed limits along this stretch have changed to 40mph for the duration of the works. E/B at the moment but W/B is due to change imminently.

Unfortunately the cack-handed way in which Waze introduced locking for cameras means that your request cannot be fulfilled. Cameras get automatically locked at the level of the last editor to touch them, and cannot be unlocked. So once an L6 touches a camera, you’re stuffed mate! :frowning:

I’ve set both these cameras to 50. Correct now for one, will soon be correct for the other. I don’t think the Wazer is actually told the camera speed so it’s not critical, it merely means than people approaching at over 50mph will get an audible warning as well as a visual one?

If you feel strongly, the best thing would be to create a new camera yourself and ask an L6 to delete the old one.

Hi Ian,
Thanks for that, although the Cam should be 40 not 50. The limit is due to be in effect until 2020/2021 so I think I’ll just bug an L6 for now.
I’ll put a request in again when they do the other side.
