When making landmarks is best to extend then to the middle of the road
e.g.
Looks much better on the client
Be advised that there has been an issue with covering roads with landmarks regarding night view. Also it’s against common practice to link landmarks to street nodes except for roundabout naming or junction naming (junction landmark on highways)

Yes and no 
Read about it in various forum entries but can’t provide you with a link. Might have been global champs as well. I remember a case where a wood has been created in a mountain region and all roads there have been reported invisible in night view. They had to segment the landmark to fix this.
Might not apply to every type so better check the presentation in the client.
