Lane closure CKL 35 Fennel Rd

From the Kawartha Lakes website.
Kawartha Lakes – The rehabilitation of the Trent Canal Bridge located on Fenel Road (CKL 35) over the Trent Canal is set to begin again this spring.Traffic will be reduced to one lane for the duration of the project and short traffic stoppages may be required. The contractor will be placing advanced warning signs for the one lane closure during the week of April 8, with the rehabilitation work set to begin again on April 15, 2024, weather permitting.Project Scope:

  • Rehabilitation of the bridge deck and the concrete finish
  • Rehabilitation of the concrete sidewalk and curb
  • Replacement of the end wall and new railings and guide rails
  • Reconstruction of the deck and repairs to all deteriorated concrete

The rehabilitation work is anticipated to be completed by August 18, 2024, weather permitting.

I am uncertain how to mark this on the map.

It seems that the road remains open – just an automated flagman will manage the traffic – so there isn’t anything to be done. You might want to put a comment box over the affected road segments to document what you’ve found (to help other editors if URs appear for the mentioned short traffic stoppages or other issues).

If Kawartha Lakes is a Waze partner (or Good Roads / Municipal 511 member) they might be able to place a construction warning for the duration via their partner feed, but we can’t do that from WME at the moment.

As soon as the automated flagging machines are installed, Waze will start saving the slower segment transition time, and over the course of 3 weeks the historical data will be updated to the new traffic pattern, ETAs will be adjusted, and if other routes become faster Waze will automatically send users there instead.
