I am an authorized representative of Volo Museum in Volo, Illinois.
The place currently listed as “Volo Auto Museum” was created in 2015 by an inactive user and is fully locked in the Waze Map Editor. There is no option to request ownership and no fields are editable.
The name and all metadata are outdated and inaccurate. I am requesting to claim ownership so I can update the official business information (name, categories, hours, photos, website, and entrance point).
Place details:
Current name: Volo Auto Museum
Requested name: Volo Museum
Address: 27582 Volo Village Rd, Volo, IL 60073
Unlike other platforms, Waze does not provide ‘ownership’ as such on places, but does allow users to submit updates for approval, or make requests for volunteer editors to update the information.
We appreciate your interest in providing the most updated information to be available for others.
What does a level 1 editor mean? When I click on it everything is greyed out and I do not have any access.
I am just trying to maximize our appearance and update all of the information.
I would also like to advertise, if that is an option.
I would like to add our logo, any copy or radius areas that we can pop up. Can you please recommend best practices to maximize our Waze account?
As far as the information that needs to be updated. from what you send me
Here is a link to editor levels Waze Map Editor Levels . Basically, they are experience levels for editing and include certain permissions and accessibility that increase with each level.
Volo Museum has been locked to level 3, as it is a tourist attraction, restricting level 1 and level 2 editors from making edits there.
There is a section for photos, there are four very outdated photos.
How can I access that? I would like to remove those and add ten or 12 update relevant photos that are much more visually appealing.
If you are able to post a link to those images, we can review them. Here are the guidelines for photo acceptance:
In general terms, the pictures of places should be such that a driver could use the picture to help determine exactly which destination is the correct one.
Photos should:
Show the exterior of the place
Be clear (not blurry, through rain-covered/dirty windows, not from moving vehicles/trains, etc)
Be well lit
Help differentiate the place location from nearby places
Primary focal point of photo should be the business
Photos could include images of, but not necessarily limited to:
Door of store
Front of place with signage
An image of the front/side of place (angled) to exemplify the correct building
Streetside signage of the place
Daylight images
Night or evening images, as long as the image is clear and helps the driver identify the place
