Level 5: Cambridge, MA

Hello, I’m L3, and this needs L5 to lower the lock or resolve the 5 UR’s currently out regarding this issue.

Southbound Ames Street can only turn right (westbound) onto Memorial Drive.

Needs a turn restriction added - cannot go straight (southbound) onto the “ramp” (L5) which then takes you to eastbound Memorial Drive.

There’s a new “no left turn” sign there.

Thanks!

turn restriction added.

normally I’d be skeptical, since the “No Left Turn” sign usually is there so you don’t accidentally turn left the wrong way down Memorial Drive W – but I see they recently converted Ames St to two way, so it is unlikely that they would let traffic bear left there at the risk of conflicting with westbound traffic.

Thanks. I was equally skeptical, so I actually drove over to look at the intersection. The left turns is not exactly natural.

And I agree the sign is usually so that you don’t turn left on the one way, but then I think it’d usually have a “one way” sign. . .Ames has been two ways for a year or to at least. . .but the sign just popped up!

Now I just have to wait for UR’s saying that we can turn left there!

Cool. Thanks for taking a spin over there.
