Northpark Dr is locked at Level 5, for no obvious reason at all. It’s not even a major road, or even that busy of a street. There are multiple problems indicated at the intersections along this road that need to be fixed. I cannot correct them as I am only a Level 3 editor, and someone decided it would be a fantastic idea to lock this road at level 5. It really doesn’t need to be locked at any higher than 2 or 3.
Those roads could have been locked by a level 2 editor, and when the level 5 edited, it may have been automatically adjusted (before the lock levels are what they are now). They’ve both been lowered to level 1.
The other segments surrounding Northpark are also locked at 5, so I still can’t correct those intersections.
Done
Fixed the intersections, but noticed that a couple more just east of there also have 5 locks. No issues, but no need for the lock level. Looks like it stops at Mills Branch Dr.
If there’s no issue, I’m not lowering the lock level.
That high of a lock level in a residential neighborhood will cause future editing problems, especially if other road changes occur. It makes no sense to leave it locked so high when everything else touching it is level 1.
I understand what you’re saying, but “why change something if it’s not broken?”
Uniformity? Easier maintenance later on without having to submit special requests? Both seem like good reasons to me.
I don’t do “just cause” unlock requests. Sorry.
It was obviously adjusted that high by mistake in the first place. Why not reverse the mistake?
It was obviously a mistake that it was locked so high in the first place. Seems like the logical thing to do would be to undo the mistake in its entirety.
I was also thinking of making Northpark line up better with the satellite imagery, but I wouldn’t be able to move those intersections if I wanted to do that.
No, that’s not obvious.
