Level 5 : Vaughan, ON - Collector ramp labelling

Segment 64797270 - Currently the ramp is labelled, “to Hwy 7”. This can be confusing when navigating - as it is not obvious that this is the start of a small section of express/collectors route and should be labelled “to Collectors / Hwy 7” IMO.

What do the street signs say?

Sorry missed your reply,

The exit sign says Highway 7, but the road south of the exit is labelled as express/collectors in the map.

The route waze tales via the Highway 7 exit, then to the collectors and then back to the express, if you aren’t aware this is what it’s doing. That’s why the collectors suggestion was made - yes it doesn’t match the sign, but it does match what the road is doing, and how it’s labelled in waze.

Hi Cliff,

The standard is to have all directions match the street sign. Imagine not knowing the area and looking for an exit that said “EXIT to Collectors” ?

It’s been talked about before – if Waze routes someone onto the collector then back onto express, it’s because it thinks it’s faster… it may not be, but the only way to fix Waze’s knowledge is to drive its directions occasionally.

Matching the street signs makes sense, although the collector route through the area is unintuitive unless you know it really well. I’ll make sure to drive it a couple of times (and it is likely faster, especially if there is any traffic).
