Hey @shirapashu ! I recommend this course be revised, there are currently risks with using allowed vehicle types in segment restrictions

Especially in this Practice Time section:
I recently worked on fixing bad routing for EVs across NYC (even on the Manhattan Br that is mentioned here :grimacing: )

The issue is that if you only allow Private vehicles in the segment restriction, but the app user selects EV as their vehicle type, they will be excluded from being allowed to route onto it

This was only discovered after URs started to show more information in them (like vehicle type) where we noticed EVs were blocked from some old restrictions added by staff in 2020, and when EV features were rolled out, there was an oversight that these old restrictions would cause issues

In the editor it clearly states “Other vehicle types are prohibited” when using the Driving is Allowed for option, so if Private is selected, but not EV, EV drivers will not get the route even if allowed outside of Waze

Please review these points so that new and experienced editors are aware of this and do not get misled by this training and cause routing issues!

Here is another NYC example just fixed this week, you can see a cluster of URs nearby all with EV vehicle type set that were given poor navigation because there was a (now fixed) segment restriction with Private as allowed vehicle type but not EV

Thank you for looking into this! Could wording in that last line be changed to

Note that if private vehicles are allowed, electric vehicles should also be added to the allowed list

To my eyes, it currently looks like it says: if you add private, electric vehicles would get routed too - that may be my bias from fixing existing restrictions though, I’ll see what other editors think
