In terms of naming parking lots, I’ve seen a bunch that have been named, and I didn’t see a FAQ addressing this issue. Is there one?

I’m struggling to find you the answer, but it seems like the general, un-official, guideline is something like:
“PLRs are conventionally un-named; use names when it’s particularly unique, meaningful, or confusing otherwise”
Also be aware that Parking Lot Road names will show up on the maps, and I don’t think “Safeway rooftop parking lot” is neither unique, meaningful, or confusing without it. You wouldn’t be routed into the Parking Lot, unless you’re going to Safeway anyways.
