Level4→L3 Unlock: A21 nr Tonbridge, Kent

Hi,

Could a kindly L4+ do the honours with these two roads by dropping them to L3 please.

The reason is more overnight work and another updated road layout! Many thanks.

Kind regards,

Dave

Downlocked so you can tweak the layout.

The A21 is a Highways England road, so please don’t record the overnight closures manually. Let Closure Monitor do it.

Ian

Many thanks, all done.

Also, thank you for the advice regarding closures. I’ll confess to having added a few in recent weeks/months, but only because they didn’t appear to be closing automatically. However, I’ll leave them alone from now on.

Cheers,

Dave

Locks restored.
I know I’ve relocked some roads that you’ll need to tinker with again later, but it will protect them from well-meaning “corrections” to conform with the aerials.

Unfortunately Closure Monitor will need to relearn the A21 segments every time they change, but I think it’s still worth using it.

No problem, it’s all for the greater good. I suppose I ought to put “honorary L4 editor until March 2017 to save the community from a few dozen more A21 unlock requests” on my Christmas wish list ASAP… and then hope that Santa delivers early!

With this latest round of changes (and the one a week ago), I’ve managed to get by by just realigning the various ‘live’ segments rather than creating new roads for the main carriageway, the only exception being the southbound sliproad had to be moved from the dual carriageway to the single track section for the temporary junction that has been built there. The bulk of the creating/moving/deleting to reflect the current layout were all done with my ‘under construction’ segments. It was slightly more work for me, but it had the benefit of saving all average speed data, etc. doing it this way. Will Closure Monitor have to relearn the re-alignments, or will the preservation of segments & data mean it won’t be set back?

As KCC don’t appear to be posting regular updates, I’ll continue to make regular reconnaissance trips along there to keep on top of changes.

Cheers,

Dave

I suspect what matters to Monitor would be start point, end point, and Waze segment ids. So bending a route wouldn’t matter, but moving the ends or splitting/joining segments would.

Just my guess, Timbones could give a definite answer.
