Reason for request: I believe it would be best to restrict the turn into the shopping complex from WB Royal. You must cross a solid yellow.
Is that illegal in BC? The double yellow ends at the entrance. What about people turning left to come out?
There is no difference in BC between turning left over a double solid or a single solid line. It is illegal however to obstruct any traffic while making such a turn. The guidance I was told on this is that if it is a A4 road these turns should be restricted as that suggests such a road would have a fair amount of traffic and such a turn could likely not be completed legally. I can pass this by my Local Champ as well if that would be helpful.
There are no legal issues with coming out and turning across a solid line.

I would agree that this restriction should be in place. Although this is an A4 road from when I’ve been on it there is not that much traffic, however, with cars parked in the right lane, I would be surprised if you could make this turn all the time without disrupting traffic, so would be illegal. As for making changes to the Canada wiki, I’m not sure it’s appropriate. These are laws specific to BC and I don’t believe other provinces have something like this. Also, it’s like the use of Difficult Turn designation, it really needs local knowledge to understand what is possible and what is difficult or disruptive to traffic flow.
