I am requesting these segments to be unlocked due to the road structure changing to make the intersection safter. I am a local to this area.

What is changing? Not seeing anything posted on the Abington website.

Will unlock but noticed you have disconnected the street (Old Russell Rd), so would like to know what to expect

Ok I called VDOT and then the Town of Abingdon.

VDOT didn’t do anything but Town of Abingdon did some adjustments but their GIS is out of date. Talked it through with the Public Works Department. See if the updates are correct now.
This was a PITA since the official 2023 aerial from Abingdon and their “official” updated streets don’t show the change. Even the latest aerials in WME have a portion of the Old Russell Rd shown that isn’t there anymore.

All the official sources have the old configuration. The one lady in Public Works used to live there so was really helpful.

Even logged into the WME to make sure we updated properly.

Even with the unlocks you needed someone to delete the removed road segments. So it all worked out. Have a great week.
