Reason for request: Updated Gate Hours at Kirtland AFB
Kirtland swapped their “main gate” from Wyoming to Gibson several years ago, and I see that Waze hasn’t been updated. If possible, I would like to update restrictions on the IN and OUT segments at the Wyoming Gate to reflect the information contained here: http://www.kirtland.af.mil/shared/media/document/AFD-130318-038.pdf

Hi. Thanks for writing and sorry for the delay in responding. Another editor alerted me to this post.
Do you work on Kirtland AFB? I do and get emails at work with updates all the time that sometime supersede the items posted on their website. I am familiar with the gate change away from Wyoming as 24 hours and changed that some time ago. Is there a specific error on the gates?
I see something happened to the gate timing, so I fixed it. The extra lane will never route because of the gate structure; however, it is only open 6 am to 9 am weekdays.

Sounds like you’ve already tried to handle the issue.
I’m a frequent TDY’er here… but it sounds like the SFS/other emails are frequent enough that it’s “not worth it” to try to change the restrictions in Waze.

I think it is worth trying to change the restrictions on Waze road segments to update them. For military installations, the typical guidance is to lock the gates at rank-5 so that new editors who don’t understand the structure of roads and private roads controlling access to the base are prevented from damaging them.
This particular segment you identified was fixed in the past, but either I or someone made a mistake. I had updated that segment for a holiday restriction and perhaps accidentally deleted the regular rule set.
Another way to address that besides here is to look who locked the segment at a higher level and send them a PM.
