Reason for request: Remove alt-name “Veterans Memorial Hwy” or add cardinal direction to alt-name, to remove BDP for “u-turns”.
I’m confused how the Alt name not having Cardinals is an issue. Can you help me understand before I make any changes?

tl;dr: if you miss an exit, the ramp/freeway equivalent of a u-turn is unnecessarily penalized.
Ok, I’ve read the thread and see that there does not seem to be consensus yet. I will try to make some changes that should address what you are talking about while staying consistent with current guidance.
The consensus that hasn’t been reached is if/how to switch from the existing guidelines for the primary name.
However, we can all agree that it does have an impact on routing, and “Veterans Memorial Pky” alt-name only exists to satisfy one’s roadgeekness and provides no positive impact to the user.
I did not feel comfortable removing all the cardinals nor the alternate name for the highway. What I did do was add a non cardinal Hwy 416 to all segments in both directions. While the Veterans Memorial Hwy alternate name should also avoid BDP I figured it would not hurt.
If we get specific guidance on cardinals then we can remove but since it seems a little up in the air I’m not comfortable removing them anywhere they already exist.

Oh noes–it was the opposite I was asking for-- to remove “Veteran’s Memorial Pky” or make rename the alt to “Veteran’s Memorial Pky N / S”
