Probably better that this is unnamed

Exit 2: Martin Luther King Jr Way / 51st St

rename to “to 51st St”

This is an interesting one: as far I can find, solid white lines should be treated as if the roads have split–https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lon=-122.26757&lat=37.83568&layers=517&zoom=8&segments=61412127

Should the split occur where the white lines begin, further up, with a keep left/keep right?

add a “to”

  1. Rename to “Exit 44: W Grand Ave / 7th St”
  2. Move the exit node much further back (right now it’s after the exit)

    rename to “to I-80 W / I-580 E / San Francisco, Berkeley”

name to “to I-80 E / Sacramento”

rename to “to SR-24 W / Downtown Oakland”

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve completed a number of these; still in progress. I also did some realignment of roads with GPS.

Regarding this one:
https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lon=-122.26757&lat=37.83568&layers=517&zoom=8&segments=61412127

Generally, the fork should go approximately where the solid white line begins, yes. Do you have on-the-ground experience with this location? If so, does it “feel” like it needs a Stay Right prompt in order to not get stuck in the left turn lane?

Re: this fork,
https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lon=-122.30010&lat=37.84692&zoom=8&segments=70726422,5594687,5581366

It looks like it is currently generating a “Stay Left to I-80 W” prompt. Is that really necessary?

Thanks for all of these.

For the former: no on ground experience, but ‘driving’ through with Streetview seems like an earlier notification would be useful, as SR-24 itself isn’t even signed until at the traffic light (only the control cities are signed). 1.5 lanes splitting off on the left side of a 3 lane road–probably reasonable to extend the split (perhaps the SR-24-bound can be classified as ramp)!

For the latter: nope.

Rank 4 editor here going through some of the way-back log and it’s not clear this request is finished…is it?

I can see this ramp locked at 5 does not precisely match the sign, which says I-580 / San Francisco / Hayward (the ramp has Hayward first and then SF).

All of these ramp segments, most of them locked at 5, could use some name adjustments as well. These include a “stay left” instruction, questioned by tonestertm, that seems unnecessary to me as well.

This issue was open, but it was locked at 4 and I believe I’ve resolved it:

And finally, this issue requires a Rank 5:

Then in the follow-up was this question. Like Nagamasa, I have only SV/aerials to go on, but it seems reasonable to me as well to advance the fork. And (likewise based only on the imagery) I’d lean in favor of a construction to give a wayfinder for MLK Jr Way here. Waze is known for not giving instructions when one transitions onto a freeway if that transition looks like “straight ahead” (best continuation) to Waze, so even an experienced Wazer might not automatically assume no instruction means avoid the freeway ramp. This is locked at most at 4, so I can take a stab at this update request if there are no objections:

I went ahead with the MLK Jr Way work. The rest is locked above me:

Bump–L5 still required.

Ok I have fixed naming, some geometry and forced BC to prevent the “Keep Left” in two unneeded places.

Everything look good?

Some of the stuff from the original haven’t been updated yet–i’ve listed them all here:

I believe I was able to fix this one some weeks ago. Please check if it looks OK.

Oops, missed checking that one–thanks for fixing that one!

(The others on the updated list needs to be updated still.)

Friendly bump
