Everyone, just an addendum I noticed in the discussions:

In Wazeopedia, there has never been either a prohibition or an obligation to use abbreviations in place names. What is stated there is that if an abbreviation is used, it MUST be among the abbreviations supported by Waze to avoid issues with searches.

Now, my point of view is that I agree that places shouldn’t be abbreviated. In general, having a longer place name doesn’t hinder navigation.

I agree with Felipe and reinforce what he mentioned: that in Wazeopedia there is no rule that prohibits or mandates the use of abbreviations in place names.

In the topic: Places > Name there is the following excerpt:

Apart from the situation with acronyms, one should not write place names in all caps. Only the first letter of each word should be capitalized, just like in road names. Furthermore, only the abbreviations supported by Waze should be used.

Therefore, I understand that writing them in full is not prohibited, nor is abbreviating them mandatory. However, if you choose to abbreviate, only the abbreviations listed and accepted in Wazeopedia should be used.
