Hi! I’m a newer editor but long time Waze user. Is there a way to lock a road from having it’s name changed? We have a road that has a specific name, but someone keeps going in and editing the road and naming it to a nickname for the road. It’s going to creating confusion if it’s not correctly labeled.

Hello,
I have been monitoring this area ever since the announcement of the name change was made public. Waze has not control of governmental agencies decisions to name roads. I reached out to the Communications Director for Lake County. According to him Schofield Rd did not have its name changed. Instead, it was designated as Charlie Kirk Memorial Hwy as an honorary title. Therefore, I added it as an alternate name.

Thanks everyone for the help to get this addressed. Given the subject matter, without it being locked down to edits, it’s likely to always be a fight back and forth. And road name accuracy is key.
