Some of the routes below is not fixed yet, please assist if you are in the area, and please add more towns that need fixing.

0-15 km - All road types are allows for routing.
2015-04-11 - Problem George[hide]Going down from JHB to George / Knysna in December 2014 and now in April 2015 it seems Waze struggles with long distance routing.

The problem seems to be Major highways (N12) changing to Primary streets through small town’s breaking the routing. (Waze filter’s routes for Highways)

I propose we make all the roads through a small town Major Highways, to enable proper routing.
Only down side i see is person in the town having “Avoid Highways” but it does not seem likely.[/hide]
Roodepoort -> Cape St Francis
2015-10-07 This gives the option of 3 routes now. N6, N10, R57
Howic(KZN) -> Neslpruit
2015-10-07 This also give 3 options now, N3(All the way), N3/N11, R33

I’ve seen the same issue and have experimented with the road types to solve it but at this stage the results are inconclusive. My issue is Howick to Nelspruit. After changing a bunch to minor highway through towns (ans waiting for a tile update) the same incorrect route was suggested. Unless there is another update to the routing server that I do not know about that has to happen I’m at a bit of a loss.
I suggest you make the changes and see if there is any improvement and report back here.
Edit: to be clear, the change to a major highway should only be if the road outside of town is one already. No sense having a minor coming in then suddenly change to a major just for the bit in town.

Pieter, if I’m not mistaken most of the segments you’ve linked to are not locked higher than L3. Are you suggesting other editors do the changes because of a lack of editing rights?
