Longest route suggested!

I have noticed that, on my daily commute, Waze has been giving me only one route option- which takes a minimum of 30 minutes MORE than if I ignore Waze and take the faster-motorway route!!

As it is my daily commute, and I know the routes quite well, it is easy to ignore, keep driving until Waze reroutes itself and I get the shortest route suggested.
But….if I don’t now the routes, I am not sure Waze is really providing the best/fastest/less congested route!!

(And yes, I checked and I have not opted out of Motorway routes!)
