I’m looking to see what the interest level would be for a statewide editor meetup.
I’ve had this idea rolling around in my head for a while and have recently started discussing the possibility with a few others. But, before I commit to planning this, I wanted to make sure there were enough people interested in going.
The meetup will be open to all Wisconsin Editors, the Great Lakes State Managers, our Regional Coordinators and the Country Managers.
Please post your interest in this, as well as any suggestions for topics of discussion.
Currently, there is a very tentative time of next Spring to have this meetup.
Also, if anyone has experience in event planning and would be interested in handling this with me, please let me know. I’ve personally never done something like this before and would appreciate having someone with more experience helping out.
I would definitely be interested! My only reservations are issues on my end. AKA I’m not sure how much longer I’ll be in the area and I’m pretty far away from civilization.
I’d be in. I just need to figure out a way to get the wife on board
I would also need a date locked in at least a month in advance though, so I can make sure I’m not on the schedule for work.
Thanks for the interest. We’ll definitely be doing this, sometime. Probably not as soon as I originally hoped for. I’m still waiting to hear back from Waze about what they will cover and how they will cover. In the meantime, there is also a Great Lakes Region meetup that is in the works. https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=943&t=157187
Tango, I’m definitely looking to a planner to help with this (I have never done this before). Shoot me a PM sometime and we can talk a bit about it.
This sounds like it could be worthwhile. Am I right in assuming that this would be geared towards the editors, and not so much their families? i.e. more like a conference than a meet & greet?
I was hoping to make it some of both. A little time to just “meet & greet” and then seminar/classes. Family would be welcome to m&g, but not during classes (unless they are editors too).
For those that haven’t seen this post https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=943&t=157187, there is a Great Lakes Region meetup that has finally started picking up speed. Because of this, I think holding off on a Wisconsin specific meetup is a good idea. Let’s get through the GLR meetup first and then come back and look at something more formal for our state.
