Loss of map editor level?

I have returned after a hiatus (kids what can I say) and I have noticed some changes I had questions about. About 5 years ago you only needed 1000 edits to make it to level two and unlock the Robot skin/mood. I unlocked it and used the robot mood for years. Then kids came and less time for editing.
Then Covid comes around and I don’t drive as much, so I deleted the app from my phone. I am now trying to get back into the swing of things and I have lost the Robot, I am no longer a lvl 2 and am now a lvl 1 (1200 edits). Now lvl 2 needs 2000 edits. Is there no way to get back my rank from the old level edit ranking or am I just stuck?

Thank you in advance. Stay safe out there.

For editors with extended periods of inactivity, ranks are lowered (but can be restored) after a return from hiatus. The key reason is so you have a chance to be brought up-to-speed with new features and guidance. Life happens, congrats at the kiddos and hope you and the family is well!

The lack of editing in at least the past 90 days also resulted in the Robot mood not being available for you upon the immediate return. Resuming editing should ultimately restore that mood (and the other moods available to editors), but the rank restoration we’ll need to submit when you’ve had a chance to catch up on any changes since you last edited which appears to be close to 3 years ago.

Ask away with any other questions that may have cropped up upon your return. If you’re not in Discord, we do have the Discord Plains Region server available: https://www.discord.me/wazepln

Welcome back, I know life can get in the way sometimes. If I remember correct you are from the Sioux Falls area. If you are looking for some projects to build up edits or have any questions let us know.

Taking away an editor’s “mood” is a jerk move. The mood isn’t a licensure, it’s an indication of level reached. Like a martial arts belt, or an educational degree. You don’t lose those if you get rusty from disuse. And it’s not like you’re protecting other wazers by demoting us former editors from exclusive moods because you can’t click on a touchscreen and find out the editor you saw onscreen is actually “retired.” It’s a little thing to let us keep our robot…and it’s petty to take it away. All of us that earned that mood gave something. This should be reversed. Maybe the solution to protect the elite status of those that are active is to create a mood for level one editors and not kick out inactive or infrequent editors from keeping level 1 status. How hard could that be? There are temporary moods and the morph still floating around, why not something for level ones that may have 10,000s of edits for you?

Appreciate the feedback, but that’s outside of volunteer control. That’s a staff-level decision to reward active editors with those moods. You’re welcome to submit those suggestions to have that process improved/changed. Keep in mind, they do handle earned levels in one facet by going from Baby Wazer all the way up to Royalty Wazer which isn’t removed due to any inactive periods but your point has been expressed by others regarding the access to those moods.

Deaf ears. I’ve submitted that opinion to general feedback and was ignored. I’ve still got my crown and over a half million waze points. But I guess my 5,000+ edits and territory manager time aren’t worth anything to anyone because I’m not active today in editing. The community is good but the organization at the top isn’t one I’m interested in working for anymore. But, I did post a suggestion now so for the 5 aggrieved former/part-time editors out there looking perhaps 15 votes will cut it and prompt a change. I am doubtful.
