Maryland Construction Projects

Rank 5 Needed

By several UR’s, these segments of US-40 have to be reconnected. I am unfamiliar with the project and could not find that provides details besides this. I am not sure if they reconnect at the same location.
The referenced permalink for the UR does show the driver merging near Payson St.

Someone more familiar with the West side??

Anybody have knowledge about this area? - US-40 at new MARC Station

Regarding Rt. 40 Closure PermaLink

I’ve completed the updates to this Area.

Regarding Frederick Rd Bridge Closure PermaLink
Do we want to reconnect the bridge and use the closure form to improve the visual in-app?

Hey all: noticed this article about a realignment of the ICC ramps at 198. Not in my edit area, so I thought I’d share here:

Thanks, I’ve moved ramp. Anyone that drives through, please adjust it to reality.

I-95 Lane Closures Oct 19 - Mid Nov

I want to warn Waze users, but since at least one lane will be available for traffic, can’t mark it “closed.”

Can we get a Level 5 manager to fix the new right hand merger ramp onto Rt4 Northbound from Woodyard Rd?

I’ve connected the clover leaf ramp. Can any check to see if that is correct? Anyone want to address all the URs?

I responded to several of the UR’s there and asked for help from a local editor.

Anyone familiar with the plans to do this?

I’m working on 200 right now. Please review and let me know if you see any problems. I have the closed segments set to open on Monday at midnight. Please leave URs that have tracks open so we can check the alignments.

Two questions: First, is there a separate exit point from 95 S for exit 33 to 198 and then exits 31/32 to Konterra and the ICC? Second, should we change the name of Contee Rd to Konterra Dr?

Was doing some route checking on the new I-95/MD-43 ramps, and I noticed the live map is now trying to show elevations:

Therefore some of the elevations need to be fixed to match “reality”: .
Can someone lower the locks to 3 on 43, the ramps and I-95 so I can adjust elevations/geometry a bit.

Yes, the live map should begin to show roads with positive elevations as bridges and negative elevations as tunnels like has been the case in the rest of the world. This will no doubt trigger a long discussion on whether segments should be split to change elevations for display purposes. But that discussion should be countrywide. I’m also not seeing the state boundary lines as often with the change. I’m hoping they don’t disappear entirely.

I’ve lowered the ramp locks. Make sure you coordinate with Kodi75. Let me know if you want them locked higher when you’re done.

Is the next step elevations shown on the app? Alan has mentioned that there is an overhaul with the next release.

No doubt we’ll be getting tons of URs about missing bridge overpass <groan>. Perhaps we need to implement a reporting system that first sends a reply with a relevant FAQ / WIki page, then if that doesn’t resolve it, forward it to the editors.

They keep telling us the design will be updated in 4.0, so it would make sense.

Carl,

  1. As of this past week, they are separate, and I believe they will remain separate.

  2. I took out the Konterra Dr references as the signs I saw uncovered on 95 last night said Contee Rd E. The only references I have to Konterra Dr are from the website, but the signs on what is shown as Konterra Dr still say Contee Rd as of this past week.

The alignments of new segments and naming of some new ramps are my best guess, so I’ll drive through on Monday and make corrections. If anyone else drives through or sees issues, please let me know.

As I’m sure most of you have noticed I haven’t updated the original post in this thread in some time. I thought the closure spreadsheet would replace this, but it covers the entire country, contains limited project-specific information, and is only editable by SMs/CMs. Therefore, what is everyone’s thoughts on transitioning to a wiki-based list for major construction projects?

There is a new closure feature in the WME beta. I’m basically waiting to see how it shakes out before settling on how to address closures going forward.

do we know how high ranked an editor must be to implement a closing?
