We’re excited to be able to allow new Editors to Ask for A Mentor!
So now, we need your help connecting potential Mentees with our dear Mentors!
And so… a new role is born - A Mentoring Coordinator!
What will a Mentoring Coordinator do?
Ensure that new editors get a personal welcome from another community member.
How?
Mentorship Coordinators will have access to a spreadsheet with requests from Editors looking for Mentors in their country. They will:
- Regularly review the sheet
- Share requests with potential mentors - connect Mentors with Mentees
- Act as the local Mentors’ point of contact
- Update the sheet
- Communicate with staff
Who can apply to become a Mentoring Coordinator?
Rank 4+ Editors (depending on the country, we trust you) who have:
- Good communication skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Knowledge of the local community
- Experience as Mentors
- Knowledge of the WME and Map Editing practices
- A general overview of the different product-related areas, and current topics and projects in Waze.
- Knowledge of the local language
- English proficiency
Want to become a Mentoring Coordinator?
Please apply through this form, before May 1, 2022.
Our next step would be to contact the applicants, tell them more about the role, create a sub forum, and start connecting Mentors with Mentees!
And as for the Mentoring Kit, please feel free to share it with any Editor who can benefit from it!
Thank you for all your support,
Hannah
