Need to add road construction to Main Street in Newark. The beginning is down to one lane for now (from Library Ave to past Washington St. The entire project is supposed to last until 31 Dec 2020. I am only Level 1 and cannot add. Thanks.

It sounds like you are saying Main street is still open, which means we should leave the road as. Waze will learn about the change in the traffic patterns. What did you have in mind?
OK, not sure if we could mark construction on Main St as opposed to constant user input for better routes and times.
The slow traffic will be detected automatically by the routing servers and taken into account for choosing routes. That’s the nice thing about Waze, it handles these types of construction issues without any user intervention. If a road is completely closed, or closed entirely in one direction, then we can add a closure. User reports are mainly for other user’s information, they really aren’t part of any routing decisions.

On another note, how long do map edits usually take to get approved? I made a few yesterday (firsts) and didn’t want to do more if they never get approved.
Road edits usually go live in the app in a day or two. You can check the status here. So for today, if your edit was made before April 3, 1600 UTC (noon our time), then it should be active in the app today. Those are segment edits. If you made an edit to a place and created an update request, then that will depend on how quickly another editor finds it and approves it.
