I work for the East Bay Regional Park District. Currently, when people search for Mission Peak Parking, they are directed to 45868 Vinehill Terrace, Fremont, CA. This staging area has very limited parking and is being greatly impacted. Is there a way to redirect people to our main Mission Peak staging area instead located at 43600 Mission Blvd, Fremont, CA? This staging area offers 900 parking spaces. Thanks.
Thank you for posting this. I tried doing a search for Mission Peak parking, and all the locations that show up are Google Maps locations as Waze also pulls from Google Maps.
I’ve added a parking lot on Stanford Ave named “Mission Peak Parking - Stanford Ave”. I’ve used this to “catch” the Google Maps search results on Stanford Ave/Vinehill Terrace.
I’ve updated the Ohlone College Trail Head Waze location to “catch” the Google Maps search results for Mission Peak and Mission Peak Regional Preserve. I’ve also added the name “Mission Peak Parking - Ohlone College”. This way, anyone search for Mission Peak will get directed to Ohlone College.
These changes should take effect in a couple of days.
Unfortunately, although Waze is owned by Google, we do not have the ability to change Google Maps. We’ll have to submit a change request in directly on Google Maps.
