Hello @Mgeo3 ,

Thank you for sharing the report.

The message you see is expected behavior. The venue is at Lock level 5; therefore, this notification is shown to inform that if you make any changes to this place, they will be sent for review first. You can safely dismiss the message for this place.

Kind regards,
Kasia

This response, simply dismissing my concern without asking any questions or seeking any clarification is, at best, a missed opportunity.

It hits me as dismissive (of my concern, without understanding it) and defensive (of prior Waze decisions, -and, if this answer is correct, poor wording -without consideration of the current situation).

Had you asked for clarification, or further explanation, rather than simply defending the status quo and shutting the door, I would have told you that two Country Managers/ Rank 6/ Champs asked me to report this bug. I wonder if they would have received the same response.

But I guess it’s easier to just dismiss something when it comes from a lowly R4…

So frustrating…

(Edit: and even filed under WAD…)

@Mgeo3 , I apologize for the miscommunication from my end.

I did not intend to simply close the report and disregard your concern. The confusion arose since in the report it was mentioned that you checked the behavior from your end, and I checked venue lock level against your Map Editor’s level.

I understand your frustration; however, that is the existing flow: the alert appears once you select a place locked at a higher level than yours with the intention to edit it. I agree that it might look confusing.

We value each reports and feedback. Let me know if you have further questions so I can follow up with the team since WAD status stands for ‘intended behavior’ for reported behavior. The case remains open for discussion and comments.

Kind regards,
Kasia
