Running version 3.2 on Android 2.3. I often listen to music as I drive, whether it be Pandora or audio stored on the device. When Waze speaks directions, the music isn’t muted so it is difficult to make out what Waze is saying.
Also, It would be nice if Waze would mute other audio when working with voice commands. As it stands right now, it will mute very briefly, but then music will start again interfering w/ any further instructions from the app or commands from me.
I have a similar request; Google Navigation & Google Music behave the way the original poster requests.
When I use Google Navigation while listening music with Google Music, and Google Navigation says “In 300m, turn left”, etc. , the volume of the music is automatically reduced. This way, the instructions from Google Navigation can be heard clearly.
However, when using Waze along with Google Music in the background, the music volume is not reduced, making it hard to understand.
As others have posted ( http://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=16394&p=145504&hilit=android+music#p145504 ), waze classifies itself under “media” for sound, so it’s not possible to tune down the music volume without turning down waze’s volume as well.
Alternatively, it should be possible to turn up waze’s volume much more than now? At 100% volume, waze is just OK. Maybe the current level should correspond to 50% and then there would be room to making it louder?
For the record I use waze 3.2.2.2 with Android 4.1.1 on a Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
