N3 South to M2 West

So I’ve noticed this a couple of times, and hope some can recommend a suggestion on how to fix it or maybe just leave. When coming from the N3 South to M2 West, Waze always suggest I do the following highlighted routed https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lon=28.12973&lat=-26.23488&layers=997&zoom=3&segments=137794851,102472619,164842746,164842747,101725051

When in reality, the best option would be to do this https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=row&lon=28.12973&lat=-26.23488&layers=997&zoom=3&segments=137794851,164842747,101725051,164842745

Hope, you noticed that change. Here’s the sitution, when heading to the M2 using the N3, the M2 on ramp is on the left side. If you use the route which is always suggested by Waze, from the N3 South you usually have to fight your way through traffic to get from the right to the left side. Obviously this caused a lot of issues in the past and so a small ramp (off sorts) was put a couple of years ago that would put you on the left side off the high way, as seen in my second link.

But Waze still suggests the first route. The only reasons I can think why is a) that ramp requires a slower speed off travel so Waze picks what it deems a faster route or b) it would be highly confusing to call it out cause you’d be basically going past 3 forks on highway under a short time.

Anywoo, this has just been bugging me since the 2nd route would be more correct road.

Huh… having travelled there many times I didn’t even realise that was an option.

I had a look at the timing of the two routes - it would appear that the so called “inner” route is quicker by a whole four seconds. I get the same results when changing the time to peak traffic too.

I assume you’d want to go from the right side to the left because you’re taking the next exit? Otherwise surely it would be faster to stay in the fast lane?
