Naming of North Tarrant Pkwy

A certain road in Tarrant County frequently is seen with a name that appears correct on the surface, yet is quite wrong. I, for one, would enjoy seeing this repaired in Waze.

Usually, this road is shown as “N Tarrant Pkwy”, a common appellation for roads that run north and south. When you look at this road, the first thing you notice is that it runs east and west. Eventually, you also notice that the road never becomes “S Tarrant Pkwy”, thus demonstrating that the word “North” in the road’s name is not simply a way to determine the part of the road to which one is referring.

The road is named “North Tarrant Pkwy” because it runs across northern Tarrant County. Since I’m a newbie and can’t change it, anyway, I would very much appreciate either a higher-level editor changing it, or some education as to why it should not be changed.

Uh…I’ll get back to you on this.

I’ve looked at Street View along the western stretch between 35W and east of Denton Hwy and all the street signs say “N Tarrant Pkwy” so my two cents is it should stay named that way…

What he said.

I understand. I’ve heard many times, and followed, the advice that the map should reflect what drivers actually see, whenever possible. If that’s what they see, then that’s what they see.

Side note: What’s more annoying than streets labelled incorrectly on the map? Streets labelled incorrectly on the street signs!!
